SIU’s Paul Simon Institute will host the New York Times’ chief European business correspondent for a webinar.
Carbondale, IL – Liz Alderman, The New York Times’ chief European business correspondent, will join the Paul Simon Institute for Public Policy for a virtual discussion at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 7.
Alderman will discuss the political, economic and social crises across Europe with Institute Director John Shaw.

“Liz is a highly skilled and experienced reporter whose articles cover the dramatic events unfolding in Europe, fueled by technological revolutions, political disruptions and Russia’s brutal war in Ukraine,” said Shaw.

Alderman began her career covering the U.S. Congress and the Federal Reserve in Washington, DC, before moving to Europe, where she served as the Paris bureau chief of BridgeNews, business editor of the International Herald Tribune, and business editor of the New York Times. She is now the paper’s chief European business correspondent based in Paris.
This event is part of the Paul Simon Institute’s Understanding Our New World series of virtual conversations with public and private sector leaders, policy experts, political analysts, authors and journalists.
