Former Georgia Tech offensive tackle Devin Cochran has been cut by the Cincinnati Bengals.

After fighting for a spot throughout the preseason and for a roster spot in training camp, former Georgia Tech offensive tackle Devin Cochran failed to make the Cincinnati Bengals’ roster. Today is cut day in the NFL and each franchise must trim their rosters down to 53 players ahead of the upcoming season that begins next Thursday.

The defending AFC champions have completely rebuilt their offensive line ahead of the 2022 season, but Cochran won’t be a part of it. Cochran went undrafted after playing for the Yellow Jackets in 2021 and signed with the Bengals as a free agent.

Former Georgia Tech offensive tackle Devin Cochran has not made the Cincinnati Bengals’ roster for 2022.

The Georgia native comes to Georgia Tech after spending time at Vanderbilt, where he was a multi-year starter. Cochran won’t play for the Yellow Jackets until 2021, but he started in all 12 games and was good enough to earn All-ACC honorable mention.

One thing Cochran has done in his career is split time between left and right tackle, and he should be interesting to any team considering taking him. Because his strength is being blocked, expect Cochan to start at right tackle for whichever team decides to take a chance on him. His weakness right now is pass protection. He is below average in that area and needs to work on his footwork and get ready quickly.
