[ad_1]

Many Americans across the country will be celebrating the long weekend, but it can be confusing to know what will be open and closed to celebrate the holiday on Monday, September 5th.

Here are the businesses and establishments that will be open and closed.

Retailers

Most major retailers will be open, including Walmart, Target, CVS and major grocery stores such as Kroger and Trader Joe’s. Notably, wholesaler Costco will be closed on Monday. Be sure to check with local businesses to see if they will be closed in celebration.

The government

Federal offices, government buildings and post offices will be closed on Monday. State and local courts and DMV offices are closed.

Financial institutions

Labor Day is a bank holiday, so most banks will be closed – but online banking and ATMs will be open. The stock market will not trade – the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will be dark.

post office

USPS is closed on Monday. UPS also does not operate, but Express Critical services are available. While most FedEx services are closed, the Custom Critical service does.
