Considering the fact that the New Orleans Saints have yet to play a regular season game in 2022, the initial injury report heading into the season opener against the Atlanta Falcons is extensive.

Five players did not practice Wednesday, including wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith (groin), running back Dwayne Washington (hamstring) and tackles Landon Young (groin) and Tanner Owen (illness).

The biggest concern would be cornerback Paulson Adebo (ankle).

The big news is that Michael Thomas practiced on a limited basis with his lingering injury. Also limited were starting center Eric McCoy (calf) and special teams star JT Gray (hamstring).

Another player who saw limited action was senior linebacker Pete Werner (groin), who missed the entire preseason.

New Orleans faces Atlanta on the road Sunday at noon.
