Ochsner Lafayette General celebrated the grand opening of the MTS Physical Therapy and Wellness Center in Youngsville last week.
The Youngsville facility, located at 302 Lafayette Street, is the 10th MTS Physical Therapy and Wellness Center in Acadiana. In the release, Ochsner Lafayette General said that as the city of Youngsville expands, the need for high-quality medical and disability prevention services has grown.
“Patients are living longer, living fuller lives, and that’s a testament to the modern treatments we implement every day,” said JD Boudreau, director of sports medicine at Oxner Lafayette General. “Ochsner Lafayette General is proud to partner with MTS to bring these techniques to the residents of Youngsville and Acadiana.”

Angel Architects has named new senior associates
A local firm with more than 30 years of sustainable, community-based architecture has announced that it is promoting Dion Sonnier and Brian Estes to Senior Associates.
Sonnier, a Lafayette native who earned her graduate degree in architecture from Lafayette, Louisiana, has been a licensed Louisiana interior designer since 1992.
Originally from Brookhaven, Mississippi, Estes received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from UL in 1991 and has lived and practiced in Acadiana for nearly 30 years.
“I am proud to welcome my long-time colleagues Dion and Brian to the position of Senior Associates of Angel Architects with this great promotion,” Glenn Angelle, owner and principal of the firm, said in a press release. “Their leadership in the company and the significant contribution they make to our clients is well-proven. We have the strongest team in three decades – and the momentum is really starting to pick up.”
Local businesses have signed on to support the annual kinesiology scholarships
Several local businesses and franchisees have once again signed on to fund the David Troskler Memorial Kinesiology Scholarship, which was named in honor of a UL kinesiology student prior to his graduation.
Each year, Carol Troskler, David’s mother, spearheads fundraising to support the scholarships. The fundraiser, now in its 11th year, will award two vacations from the ride machine to the person who raises the most money by buying tickets, selling tickets or donating the money.

For a $10 donation, people will receive a ticket that can be redeemed for one of the prizes offered by local businesses. In September, the tickets can be used to get a free hamburger or cheeseburger at Todd’s Car Wash, or at Judy’s Inn 25 Car Wash.
In October, tickets can be used to get a free flatbread at Tropical Smoothie, or a free drip coffee or tea at Rev Coffee Roasters. In November, the tickets can be exchanged for a free six-inch roll of Rolly Polly or a free loaf of Great Harvest Bread.
“David didn’t quite achieve his career goals, but with the scholarship he is helping others achieve their dreams – and that way, David’s dreams will be realized through the successful careers he’s received,” said Carol Troskler. In release.
