Blackburgh- After practice Wednesday, Virginia Tech football met with the media for media access. Read below to see what the head coach is Brent Pr and running back Keshawn King He had to say.

Head coach Brent Pr

On the mindset of playing an FCS team like Wofford:
“We’ve got places to improve, we’ve got to keep improving, we’ve got to push. We’re not going to take an FCS opponent for granted. I’m not a big stats guy, but I’ve been a part of it. A lot of games to go, but I think we’re in a good position. This game is more about us than the opponent. It’s progress, and that’s how we prefer to look at every game.

We can work on Wofford with his intended offense:
“I want to see us on schedule offensively. I think we need to be more consistent. We’re going to do some good things, but we need to put together a couple of streaks in a row to feel good about what we’re doing.”

What it was like waiting three years to play for Virginia Tech:
“It was tough. But I had to stay patient and wait my turn. There were a lot of guys in front of me. I got a chance to look up and see how they approached the game. I got to see how they handled it. Things on and off the field: Coming out of high school. “As things slowed down, I started learning more about the game. I got a chance to put on more weight. At the end of the day, I was ready to do whatever it took to help this team win.”

On a much improved season with a new coaching staff:
“I understand the plans. Not only my position, but the understanding of everyone around me. I learned that when you learn the whole offense and know everything that is going on on the field. Everything goes down. When I start working together. [Stu] Holt, however, wasn’t just a running back. It was about what the O-line was doing. What are the wide receivers doing? What is the quarterback doing? All of these things have helped me learn, allowing me to do what I do now.
