“Collina Strada is very playful and combines many different colors. We brought this to hair with spectacular moments.” said Evanie Frausto, Bumble and Bumble’s head hairstylist who created the hair look for designer Hilary Taymour’s latest collection. With colorful accents like lime green and bubblegum pink at the roots and ends for some models (which Frausto used clay to achieve) many of the models had jaw-dropping floor-length braids trailing down the wooden runway.
Hair was prepped using Hairdressers Heat/UV Invisible Oil Protective Primer or thickening spray to create a wet air dry texture. To finish, Thickening DrySpun Texture Spray it was used in the lineup, right before the show.
And while a braided ponytail that touches the floor may not be the most appropriate hairstyle for every day, it does inspire the possibility of using extensions to achieve a more dramatic effect for fall.
Proenza Schouler
The hair at Proenza Schouler S/S ’23 featured the increasingly popular wet hair look that has become ubiquitous on the runways over the past few seasons, in addition to a tight low braided ponytail that cascaded down the backs of a handful of models . Hair was sleek and polished with a high shine that perfectly complemented the braided and sheer lace ensembles.
It looks like we’ll be seeing this simple yet sophisticated look everywhere next season.
