Houston – For the second straight day, the Texas Tech Red Raiders (8-0) swept the Brown Bears 25-14, 25-18, 25-16 on day two of the Adidas Invitational at Tudor Fieldhouse.
Tech had an impressive offensive performance after recording 46 kills on 95 attacks for a .337 clip. The team also collected 39 assists, six aces, seven blocks and 45 digs.
High Kenna Sauer He led the offensive charge, putting together a double-double on the day with 15 kills and nine digs. Junior set Reese Rhodes She nearly had a double-double as she totaled 33 assists, eight digs, two kills, one ace and one block.

The Red Raiders went on a 4-1 run after kills from Sawyer and O’Brien. Brown was able to close the gap after tying the game at 9-9, but Tech would go on a 3-0 run sparked by Aubrey’s slam. Leading 13-10, Texas Tech won 12 of the next 16 points to take a 25-14 advantage.

In back-to-back sets, Tech took a 4-1 lead after Brown had an attack error and Sauer had three kills. After an ace from Brown tied things at 12-all, Tech went on a 6-1 run highlighted by slams from Jones and Cooper. A big kill from O’Brien ends the set at 25-18 in Tech’s favor.

The Red Raiders kept rolling, taking a 16-7 lead when Brown had an offensive error, forcing the Bears to take a timeout. Leading 20-16, Tech won the remaining five points to close the set with a Dylan Hoskins ace to win 25-16
