Fans like it or not, the face of college athletics has changed forever since Neal’s entrance. If schools want to remain competitive in landing recruits and sustaining success in the field, successful NIE programs play an important role in ensuring that both occur.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders are well aware of this, and have partnered with Opendorse, a leading NIL technology provider. Opendorse has launched the Beyond Verified Marketplace, a one-stop shop to maximize NFL opportunities for Red Raider student-athletes.
From the verified marketplace, Red Raider fans, as well as brands and sponsors, will have the ability to browse Red Raider athletes, and any student-athlete to book and pay for NFL activities. Athletic Director Kirby Hout praised the Opendoors and what it brings to the student-athletes.
“From the beginning, we have stated that Texas Tech will be a national leader in supporting our student-athletes when it comes to NIL opportunities,” Hocht said.
“Beyond the education we offer now, this is another important tool that will allow our student-athletes to excel in the NIL while abiding by both NCAA and state rules.”
All current Texas Tech student-athletes will have a profile beyond the established marketplace, allowing them to customize their own personal social media channels to promote to fans.
You can also review any opportunities or potential NIL deals in the Opendorse app and receive compensation.
In addition to current student-athletes, the marquee features several notable former Red Raiders. Those athletes range from NFL stars Patrick Mahomes and Danny Amendola to LPGA pro Kim Kaufman and soccer player Kirsten Davis.
This new NIL partnership shows that Texas Tech is determined to be at the forefront of potential opportunities for their athletes. The Red Raiders’ athleticism will continue to evolve, especially in the new Big 12 format, creating as many NIL opportunities as possible will help greatly in their ability to recruit across the board.
