The UCI ANTrepreneur Center has partnered with the UCI Law Startup and Small Business Clinic UCI news

The UCI ANTrepreneur Center has partnered with UCI Law’s Startup and Small Business Clinic. SSBC was founded in 2018 to provide legal information to entrepreneurs and small business owners in the Orange County area. According to SSBC director Daniel J. Under Alexander II’s supervision, UCI law students work on legal issues related to startups and small businesses, including business formation, contract negotiations, employment and other issues.

“We are thrilled to partner with SSBC and expand our critical resources for UCI student entrepreneurs,” said Ryan Foland, director of the ANTrepreneur Center. “This partnership allows us to provide our students with free legal advice and support that they may not otherwise have access to as early stage entrepreneurs. With trusted legal guidance at their fingertips, students can feel confident knowing they are building a solid foundation for their business.

Alexander emphasized the benefits of legal aid to student entrepreneurs:

“Founders are often so focused on raising capital, developing their products, and marketing their business that they may not prioritize the legal requirements that come with running a business and being an employer. Unfortunately, failing to properly address these issues can result in significant liability for the company and its founders, preventing them from getting off the ground.” Clipping the wings of business before. We want to prevent this by building a pipeline for ANTrepreneur Center students to access legal resources and support for startups. This partnership will expose SSBC associates to dynamic startups right here on campus and give them experience working with a variety of clients.

In the year Beginning the 1st week of Fall Quarter 2022, students will have the opportunity to attend the ANTrepreneur Center during regular office hours on Mondays from 3:00-4:00 pm and Fridays from 12:00-3:00 pm. Students can schedule one-on-one meetings with Alexander or an SSBC associate through the ANTrepreneur Center’s CampusGroups page.
