A sailing shipThe shipping and logistics solutions provider, went live on October 22 on the Government’s Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and completed its first successful transaction. Shiprocket claims to be the first urban logistics provider to connect with the ONDC network, enabling sellers from all segments to ship products to Indian cities and towns.
“We are excited to partner with ONDC as the first urban logistics provider to enable sellers from all segments to ship products to Indian cities and towns. With increasing digitization in India, sellers from tier 2 and 3 cities are coming and looking for logistics support that is comprehensive and open to facilitate their business.” We are creating a technology ecosystem,” said Sahil Goel, founder of the company Shiprocket.
With over 100,000 customers, Shiprocket allows sellers to choose delivery partners from 24,000 pin codes to ship products to India with cash on delivery and prepaid options. ONDC and Shiprocket are partnering to bring warehouse-as-a-service to the network. This allows small and medium businesses to offer same-day shipping to their customers.
“ONDC’s mission is to enable an all-India eCommerce ecosystem where a business in a small remote village in India can trust and sell their products to customers anywhere in the country. This has now become a reality as Shiprocket and ONDC are working together,” said T Koshy, Chief Executive Officer, Obdic.
